We make it easy to meet Higher Learning Commission faculty credentialing requirements

Whether you teach college courses to high school students or serve as an instructor at a community college, the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requires you to have either:

  1. A master's degree in the discipline you teach, or
  2. A master's degree in a discipline other than the one you teach, and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline you teach.

Here at IU Online, we want to help you meet HLC requirements so that you can continue to deliver outstanding classes to your students as they prepare for their future academic and professional careers.

Whatever your schedule, IU Online has convenient courses and programs that are developed and taught by IU faculty. These offerings deliver the quality and integrity that lie at the core of an Indiana University education.

Once you're ready to get started with IU Online's graduate courses for dual credit and community college educators, review the course listing for the upcoming semester and apply. Instructors with graduate degrees who teach dual credit for any Indiana college or university may be eligible to meet the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) qualifications for dual credit instructors through an IDOE tuition grant.
