The IU Online Experience

Our faculty are passionate about teaching online.

IU Online faculty recognize the unique challenges and rewards of an online education.

"You meet students online you'd never otherwise meet, and who might not be able to attend classes and earn degrees. Teaching online enriches your experience as a teacher as much as it does students as learners."

Karen Clark, IU East Dean of Nursing and Associate Professor

Learning is designed to help you progress.

Classes are structured to keep you on track. You'll know what to do and when, allowing you to create a routine and use feedback to follow one success with another.

"In online classes, I work at my own pace. I have the video, the class materials. Modules are clear. I can move quickly through the content I get and spend more time with things I'm less sure of. There's no competition to keep pace."

Justin Westfall, BS in Business Administration, Class of 2018

It's personal, even online.

At IU Online, you'll thrive in a vibrant social and academic network. You can connect with classmates all over the world through discussion forums and develop one-on-one relationships with your professors during office hours.

"We understand online learning can feel remote. Talk to your instructors. We want to hear from you. This is the best part of teaching. We're here to help you understand how this program works and how it can fit into your career goals."

Amanda Kraha, IU East Assistant Professor of Psychology

How IU Online Works

Once you're accepted, you'll be assigned to a "home campus," or campus of enrollment. That campus administers your degree program and awards your diploma. Wherever you're assigned, we'll take care of you just like any other student—even if you never step foot on campus.

Financial Aid & Fees

Questions about financial aid? We're here to help.

Our team of financial experts helps you manage your finances. We offer a number of financial tools and resources, including online modules, personal counseling, and a financial aid phone line. Our flexible payment options make paying for your program more manageable.

Apply for most forms of federal, state, and institutional aid by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This can be completed online even before you apply to IU, allowing you to make informed decisions about your education. Submitting the FAFSA doesn't obligate you to accept financial awards or enroll at IU.

Once you're admitted, you can complete the IU General Scholarship application.
